Agnez Mo

Agnez Mo at the [[2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards]] Agnes Monica Muljoto (born 1 July 1986), known professionally as AGNEZ MO (stylized in all caps), is an Indonesian singer, songwriter and actress. Born and raised in Jakarta, she was initially known as a child artist. At the age of six, she began recording songs for her first children's music album. She also became a television host for several kids' TV shows before she transformed into a professional singer who had an extraordinary influence on pop culture in Indonesia.

During her tenure as a teenage singer, Mo often trained her vocal skills as a gospel singer at a church in Jakarta. She released her first teen album ''And the Story Goes'' in 2003 of which three songs on this album topped music charts such as MTV Indonesia and VH1 Indonesia, which then catapulted her name atop the Indonesian music industry. Her success in Indonesia encouraged her to target the international music scene. In 2010, she became a red carpet host for the American Music Awards, which made her the first and only Indonesian singer ever to be a part of this event. In 2018, Billboard Vietnam gave her honorary award as "The Best Southeast Asia Artist - Indonesia". Her single "Overdose" (2018) featuring Chris Brown has entered the Hot R&B Songs chart, and in the same year she was also invited to be the first Indonesian singer to appear at the Billboard Live Session event which was broadcast live from Billboard headquarters in New York. In early 2020, she received an award as Top Social Artist given by Billboard Indonesia for her artistic performance, strong influence on the music industry and social aspects as well as charity acts that had been carried out and also engagement on social media platform. The award was given at the Billboard Indonesia Music Award ceremony.

Mo is an anti-drug ambassador in Asia and the ambassador of MTV EXIT in combating human trafficking. She has also claimed the title of entrepreneur, showcasing her own fashion line ANYE, digital marketplace, social media app and partnering with cell phone manufacturer Vivo to release her own limited-edition line of devices. In 2022, she made a history by becoming the first and only Indonesian artist to be immortalized through a wax statue at the Madame Tussauds museums in two countries. In 2023, she was selected to represent Indonesia at the Grammy Global Spin and became the first Indonesian musician to perform solo at the event. Her song "Patience" (2024) entered the US Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart and Adult R&B Songs chart.

The quality of her music and stage act has been widely recognized as influential. She became the first Indonesian singer to be nominated as Best Asia Pacific Act and Best Southeast Asia Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards and Rolling Stone Indonesia gave her the title as a "Young Diva of Indonesia" in its article and she was the first female soloist singer to be featured on the cover of the magazine.
