Hans Peter Beck Hans Peter Beck (born 19 January 1965) is a Swiss experimental particle physicist and a former president of the Swiss Physical Society. Since 1997, he has served as a reader at the University of Bern and in addition, since 2014, as a titular professor at the University of Fribourg. Beck is a member of the ATLAS collaboration, one of the two major experiments at CERN that analyze particle collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), which led to the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012.
