David Deniston Smith (born 1950 or 1951) is an American businessman, who has been the executive chairman of Sinclair Broadcast Group (SBGI) since 1990. In 1988, he became its president and CEO. He stepped down as CEO in 2017, but remains chairman. In 2024, he acquired majority ownership of ''The Baltimore Sun'' (founded 1837) and its affiliated regional and community newspapers.
