Thomas Rainey

Thomas Rainey (1824–1910) was an American lecturer, inventor, entrepreneur, and civic promoter best known for his decades-long campaign to construct a bridge across the East River between Manhattan and Long Island City: what would eventually become the Queensboro Bridge.
