Professor Subir Sarkar at [[UNIRIO]] in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Subir Sarkar (12 September 1953, Ichapur, India) is an Indian astroparticle physicist and cosmologist, known for his research demonstrating constraints on the dark sector. Dr. Sarkar has been at the Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics, Oxford University, since 1990, first as a Glasstone Research Fellow, then a PPARC Advanced Fellow, and was appointed Lecturer in 1998 and Professor in 2006. He was the Head of the Particle Theory Group (2011-2019) and a Niels Bohr Professor at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen (2013-2018). Since 2021, he has been an Emeritus Professor and an Emeritus Fellow of Linacre College of Oxford University.
