Tim J. Smith is a British business executive and government adviser involved in the food industry. Currently the chairman of Cranswick PLC, he previously held executive roles at Arla Foods, Northern Foods, Sara Lee, and Express Dairies. He was CEO of the Food Standards Agency from 2008 to 2012, afterwards serving as group quality director at Tesco. In 2020 he became chair of the Agriculture and Trade Commission. Smith is currently a member of the Food Strategy Advisory Board, chairman of Cranswick and Sheffield Hallam University, and on the board of Pret a Manger.
