In this volume Jens Heise compares two descriptions of man in the context of different anthropological, historical and cultural attitudes. In Plessner's anthropology, the principle of the unfathomable should apply universally and at the same time guarantee that in the most diverse answers to the question about man, what man is remains open. The ethics of the Japanese philosopher Watsuji (1889-1960) is a description of the human being that distinguishes itself from European modernism and philosophical anthropology. Watsuji wants to show that in East Asian cultures, existence is revealed through space and corporeality presents itself as a social body. Anthropologie klärt die vitalen Bedingungen leiblicher Existenz, deswegen steht das Verhältnis des Menschen zu seinem Körper im Mittelpunkt. Im vorliegenden Band vergleicht Jens Heise zwei Beschreibungen des Menschen im Kontext unterschiedlicher anthropologischer, geschichtlicher und kultureller Einstellungen. In Plessners Anthropologie soll das Prinzip der Unergründlichkeit universell gelten und zugleich garantieren, dass in den unterschiedlichsten Antworten auf die Frage nach dem Menschen offenbleibt, was der Mensch ist. Die Ethik des japanischen Philosophen Watsuji (1889-1960) ist eine Beschreibung des Menschen, die sich gegen europäische Moderne und Philosophische Anthropologie abgrenzt. Watsuji will zeigen, dass sich Existenz in den ostasiatischen Kulturen über den Raum erschließt und Leiblichkeit sich als sozialer Körper präsentiert. |
