Schopenhauer n'a jamais trouvé en France la place qui aurait dû lui revenir. Méconnu par les philosophes, il fut annexé par les écrivains naturalistes et au gré de la fantaisie de chacun, il devint tantôt un positiviste, tantôt un sceptique désabusé, tantôt un consolateur fraternel....
