Knjiga je posvečena 240. obletnici prvega dokumentiranega vzpona na Triglav. Prinaša prek trideset poglavij, ki osvetljujejo nova spoznanja raziskovalcev in poznavalcev Triglava kot gore, mita in simbola. Triglav in Triglavsko pogorje sta predstavljena z geografskega, zgodovinskega, etnološkega, pa tudi športnega in gorniškega vidika.
