Summary

This book deals with parenthood of mothers and fathers with so-called learning difficulties, who are often confronted with prejudices about their abilities in the role of parents, in Austria. The author is oriented towards the social critique of disability studies and follows an emancipatory-participatory approach. The relevance of multidimensional disadvantages and the respective (non-) existing framework conditions for the perception of the parental role are listed as central results.
Dieses Buch befasst sich mit Elternschaft von Müttern und Vätern mit sogenannten Lernschwierigkeiten, die häufig mit Vorurteilen gegenüber ihren Fähigkeiten in der Elternrolle konfrontiert werden. Die Autorin orientiert sich an der Gesellschaftskritik der Disability Studies und verfolgt einen emanzipatorisch-partizipativen Zugang. Als besonders relevant nach Analyse von gesellschaftlichen Diskussionen in Newsgroups, Interviews mit Fachkräften der Sozialen Arbeit und Interviews mit Eltern mit Lernschwierigkeiten zeigen sich mehrdimensionale Benachteiligungen und die jeweils (nicht) existenten Rahmenbedingungen für die Wahrnehmung der Elternrolle.
