Algorithms are increasingly taking over firms pricing decisions. This has raised concerns about algorithms' impact on the dynamics of markets. What are the risks and is there a need to adapt antitrust law? At the intersection of experimental economics and antitrust law, the author examines the collusive effects of algorithmic pricing. In addition to a legal and economic analysis, the book presents own experimental results and points out options for legal policies. The author is Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn.

Welche Risiken gibt es und bedarf es einer Anpassung des Kartellrechts? Der Autor setzt sich mit diesen Fragen auseinander und untersucht wettbewerbliche Auswirkungen algorithmischer Preissetzung an der Schnittstelle von experimenteller Ökonomie und Kartellrecht. Neben der rechtlichen Einordnung beleuchtet er Ergebnisse der Wissenschaft, stellt ein eigenes verhaltensökonomisches Laborexperiment vor und zeigt rechtspolitische Handlungsoptionen auf. Der Autor ist Research Fellow am Max-Planck-Institut zur Erforschung von Gemeinschaftsgütern.
