Summary:Advances in information and communication technologies bring about a development in the teaching-learning process, particularly in universities. This paper aims at establishing the psycho-pedagogical bases of using virtual learning environments for distance education in higher education. The psycho-pedagogical postulates that must be considered in courses on management platforms designed for distance education in higher education are formulated and analyzed. In conclusion, it may be said that the psycho-pedagogical aspects that support the use of virtual learning environments for distance education in the context of universities were established.
