Summary: | The idea guiding this paper is that images create representations of femininities, thus introducing a new identitary economy of pregnant bodies. We investigated the discursive production of mother identities published in the Brazilian magazine Pais & Filhos. As a methodological-theoretical tool, we adopted the concepts of discourse analysis by Michel Foucault. We selected images considering mainstream historical movements that express, through transformation of places occupied by body and sports practices, the intervention in the bodies, thus stating identitary positions - a sportive, delicate, moderate, balanced, strong, tough, prepared, sensual, clean, immaculate mother. |
