<p><strong>Özet</strong></p><p>Bu yazı, 23.06.2014'de Celal Bayar Üniversitesi Halk Sağlığı Anabilim Dalı tarafından bir HASUDER etkinliği olarak düzenlenen "Soma Örneğinde, Maden İşkolunda İş Kazalarının Çok Yönlü Değerlendirilmesi" başlıklı çalıştay notlarından hazırlanmıştır. Çalıştayda maden işkolu özelinde çalışma yaşamı ve sağlık ilişkisini etkileyen etmen ve süreçler irdelenmiş, farklı alanlardan uzmanların konu ile ilgili görüş ve yorumları paylaşılmıştır. Facianın gerçekleştiği madende koruma politika ve stratejilerindeki genel yetersizlik irdelenmiştir. Küresel ve ulusal düzeyde sosyal korumanın çöküşü ve bunu hazırlayan neoliberal politikaların maden sektöründeki etkileri ele alınmıştır. Tartışmalar ve uzmanların ortaya koyduğu verilerle bu facianın tümüyle önlenebilir olduğu konusunda görüş birliği oluşmuştur.</p><p><strong>Anahtar Kelimeler:</strong> Maden sektörü, iş kazaları, koruma politikaları</p><p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p>This paper is a summary of the workshop minutes which was organized by Public Health Department of Celal Bayar University, under HASUDER. Work and health relation, it's affecting factors, processes and surrounding environment were examined and discussed by experts from different areas in focusing mining sector. Prevention policies and strategies within the mine that Soma Disaster occurred were examined with special emphasis on the collapse of social protection globally and neoliberal polices behind this fact. With the facts which were debated with experts participants unanimously announce that Soma Disaster was completely foreseeable and preventable. </p><p><strong>Key words:</strong> mining sector, occupational accidents, prevention policies </p>
