Se realizó una exhaustiva revisión bibliográfica, en la cual se investigaron los aspectos de interés para el equipo de anestesiología en la intervención quirúrgica a gestantes con toxemia leve o grave, pues el conocimiento previo de los antecedentes patológicos personales y factores de riesgo que puedan incidir desfavorablemente sobre el cuadro clínico, ya complejo en extremo, permitirá proceder con mayor seguridad profesional y mejorar el pronóstico de estas grávidas complicadas.<br>An exhaustive literature review, in which interesting aspects were investigated for the anesthesiology team in the surgical procedure of pregnant women with mild or severe toxemia was carried out, as the previous knowledge of the personal pathological background and the risk factors that can influence unfavorably on the extremely complex clinical picture, will allow to proceed with greater professional security and to improve the prognosis of these women with serious complications.
