Computed tomographic pulmonary angiography (CTPA) remains the gold standard in the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism (PE), but exposure to teratogenic factors should be avoided in pregnant women. A few years ago the YEARS algorithm was developed, primarily to determine the need for CTPA.</p>
