520 |a The objective of this study is to assess the obstetric nurse's care from admission to delivery based on good obstetric practices. It is a descriptive, retrospective, and documentary study, with a quantitative approach based on the analysis of 500 medical records. The research identified that an episiotomy was done in 12.2%, an amniotomy in 13%, oxytocin was used in 42.8%, non-pharmacological methods for pain relief were applied in 75.4%, and skin-to-skin contact was used to stimulate in 91.6%. Most of the good obstetrical practices recommended by the World Health Organization were observed to be used by the obstetric nurses when providing care from admission to delivery and this is close to what has been recommended by scientific evidence.
