Description
Summary:Breast cancer is now the first location and cause of death from malignant tumors in females both in developed and developing countries and Cuba is not an exception. Because of the current situation, the Cuban Ministry of Public Health has considered breast cancer as a major health issue that has been prioritized for research, diagnosis and treatment. Therefore, a national program for early diagnosis was created in 1988. Its implementation depends on the training of General Medicine Specialists in relation to breast disease, given that they are responsible for performing the diagnosis. In this sense, the present research is aimed at demonstrating the relevance of the role of professional training as a way to achieve an early diagnosis of breast cancer by General Medicine Specialists.
