Summary:Abstract: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of audio-visual media based example non example on the ability of critical thinking Student of Biology Education Studies Program STKIP Soe. This research uses experimental approach, by conducting trials in two experimental classes and group selection is done by purposive sampling. This study can also compare with Class A and Class B on pre- and posttest one-group pretest-treated conditions. Based on the Independent T-Test test of pretest and posttest value, t-count shows 5,185 with p <0.05 so it can be concluded that the difference of pretest and posttest value hence experiment class has significantly improvement compared to control class. Abstrak: Penelitian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  mengetahui  efektivitas media audio-visual berbasis example non example terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi STKIP Soe. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan eksperimen, dengan melakukan uji coba pada dua kelas eksperimen dan pemilihan kelompok dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Penelitian ini juga dapat membandingkan dengan antara kelas A dan Kelas B pada keadaan sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan one- group pretest-posttest. Berdasarkan uji Independent T-Test nilai pretest dan postest, t-hitung menunjukkan 5.185 dengan p<0.05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa perbedaan nilai pretest dan postest maka kelas eksperimen memiliki peningkatan secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol.
