Summary:The starting point is the assumption that bilingual dictionaries are not used very often during German language classes. The influence of electronic media results in the fact that paper dictionaries are not in use and students do not know how to make use of them properly. In this situation, exercises devoted to working with dictionaries seem to be a good solution. The article presents certain exercises aiming at encouraging students to use dictionaries and improve their skills at making use of them.
