Summary: | This study aims to determine the degree of awareness of teachers of the first three grades in public schools regarding concepts of gifted education from their perspective. The study sample consisted of (382) randomly selected male and female teachers of the first three grades. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was developed for this purpose consisting of four fields (facts and concepts, developmental characteristics, gift discovery methods, and educational programs) where the descriptive approach was used. The results showed that the level of awareness among teachers of the first three grades in the public schools about the issue was of a medium level in all fields with a mean of (3.26) of the tool as a whole. The highest mean (3.55) was for the level of awareness of the developmental characteristics field and the lowest mean (2.88) was for the educational program field. The results revealed there were no differences attributed to the variables (gender, and experience); while the results revealed that there were differences attributed to the scientific qualification variable in favor of postgraduate studies. |
