Summary:<p dir="ltr"><span>Know music, teaching music and educate with the music are actions that are not the same. In this work, the music is approached as a problem of education, as the experience and the artistic expression are susceptible to education and music is one of these arts. There is a pedagogical problem that arises from the practice of the art education and the knowledge of education that makes possible the study of the music field as an object and as a goal of education. The music education is primarily, like any other area of educational experience, educational purpose orientated to used and construction of musical experience to build yourself and know how to choose a personal project of life. In the sections of this paper aims to summarize what should be the role of music education in the knowledge society from a pedagogical view. Currently are not enough the basic content of teaching that the education system has perpetuated, the new environment requires new competences that go beyond the accumulation of knowledge and should allow us to turn information in knowledge and this in know.</span></p><div><span><br /></span></div>
