Summary: | Abstract This resource is a cogent, 36-page guide on the regional dissection of the human brain. It was created for use by faculty, students, and residents in medicine and dentistry, specifically those in anatomy or neuroanatomy courses. This regional brain dissection guide includes associated review material containing images with and without labels to point out hard-to-dissect, complex three-dimensional regions and structures of the brain. These structures are often not dissected in gross labs or observed in cross sections, making it difficult to evaluate three-dimensional anatomical structure and relationships. The guide provides a concise review of these difficult-to-see structures for users during or after brain dissection; it can also be used as a supplement to currently available brain atlases. Additionally, all original images and labels provided in the presentation may be adapted for use in a variety of educational settings to increase discussion, increase instructional efficiency, and foster a comprehensive review. |
