<p>Belonging to a school shape which was going to become l'école maternelle, a teacher works, during almost forty<br />years, on the construction of a pedagogy adapted to the schooling of the small childhood. It is Marie Pape-<br />Carpantier (1815.1878) who, since the direction of the first Ecole normale maternelle which will become Cours<br />pratique, participates in search of the best practices organized around the natural method. Very influenced by the<br />empiricism of Locke and the current sensualiste, this method was going to become the central element of a<br />forgotten educational thought.</p>
