Summary:<p>11 March 2020 WHO assessmented that COVID-19 can be characterized as a pandemic. SARS-CoV-2 RNA virus is highly contagious and is transmitted by droplets.</p><p>It appears that pregnant women may be at a higher risk of being infected with SARS-CoV-2, which increases the risk to pregnancy and fetal defects. The course of the disease in this group of patients is more severe due to the changes in the immune and respiratory systems. Despite the constantly growing number of publications on the course of COVID-19 infection, the available data is insufficient.</p>
