Summary: | Background: Substance abuse is the most common mental disorder in the present. This study aimed to compare marital satisfaction and anxiety in crystal, opium addicts with ordinary people do. Materials and methods: This comparative study was conducted among population addicted to crystal and opium in rehabilitation centers in Tehran. The number of participants addicted to crystal, opium and normal were respectively 53, 47 and 80 were selected by purposive sampling method. Kansas marital satisfaction and Zank anxiety scale were used. Data analysis was done by MANONA and SPSS-16. Results: Marital satisfaction between the two addicted groups (crystal and opium) and normal group was a signifiantly difference (P<0.01), but there was no signifiant difference between addicted groups with each other (P>0.05). There were signifiant difference in anxiety between the two addicted with normal group (P<0.05), but there were no signifiant difference between two addicted groups. Conclusion: The study showed men's with substance abuse have marital dissatisfaction and trauma more than the normal group. Therapists need to pay more attention to the issue of substance abuse treatment as well. |
