Summary: | Fruit flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) are key pests in the guava crop Psidium guajava L., with different species according to the producing region in Brazil. The objectives of the present work were to know the diversity and to analyze the fauna of the fruit flies captured in a guava orchard, in the municipality of Taquarana, Alagoas, located in the Brazilian Northeast. The fruit flies were collected daily, using McPhail traps, containing attractive. Two species were recorded in the studied orchard: Ceratitis capitata and Anastrepha ssp. However, Anastrepha ssp was the most frequent, constant and dominant, considered as an invasive, potential pest in guava orchards. |
