520 |a Aim: To analyze current literature about the situation of anti-vaccine movement groups and their current social presence, and to better understand the reasons why people decide not to vaccinate their childen. Methodology: A screening of articles was carried out, from November 2015 to May 2016, through an integrative review. The sources of data consulted were: PubMed, Scielo, Scopus, Cochrane Library Plus and CINAHL. The quality of the studies was assessed using the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN). Results: A total of 587 articles was found, and 22 were selected, finally. The reasons for rejection of vaccines vary from philosophical reasons or fear of overloading the immune system to fear of side effects or a mistaken perception of low risk of disease. Conclusions: Vaccination should be understood as a fundamental right of each child, also knowing that with good information, communication and health relationship-parent / patient, great results can be obtained.
