Se señala la importancia que tiene realizar una reflexión crítica sobre las mujeres que comparten su vida en una dinámica familiar donde existe un conviviente alcohólico, desde la perspectiva del trabajo social. Se propone discutir sobre el hecho de que en las familias donde uno de sus miembros posee una tendencia incontrolable a la ingestión de este tipo de bebida, puede desarrollarse, por parte de las mujeres convivientes, el fenómeno de la co-adicción, es decir, las mujeres en esta situación odian la bebida, pero dependen del familiar alcohólico y despliegan un sentimiento de control obsesivo por él, como consecuencia de la falta de individuación femenina y ausencia de independencia económica o social. Se valoran estas consideraciones a partir de un enfoque de género, resaltando que el rol asumido por las mujeres, en hogares de este tipo depende más de una serie de exigencias culturales, que muestran que sus posiciones tienen que ver con aspectos de índole social, que con otros problemas que desde el punto de vista psicológico ellas puedan presentar. Se enfatiza que el trabajo social hacia estas mujeres debe realizarse a partir de influencias educativas que les brinden la información necesaria sobre el alcoholismo como enfermedad, cambios en los estilos de vida familiares y la elevación de la autoestima<br>It is pointed out how important is to carry out a critical reflection on the women that share their life in a family where there is an alcoholic person from the perspective of the social work. It is proposed to discuss about the positions that stand out the fact that in the families where one of their members possesses an uncontrollable tendency to the ingestion of alcoholic drinks, women who live with that person could develop the phenomenon of the co-addiction, that is so to say, the women in this situation hate the drink, but they depend on the alcoholic relative and they display a feeling of obsessive control for him, as consequence of the lack of feminine individualization and absence of economic or social independence. These considerations are valued starting from a gender focus, standing out that the role assumed by the women, in homes of this type, depends more, of a series of cultural demands of social nature than with other psychological problems they can present. It is emphasized that the social work toward these women should be carried out starting from educational influences that offer them the necessary information on the alcoholism like illness, changes in the family lifestyles and the rise of the self-esteem in a gender perspective.
