Summary: | The physicians of primary medicine occupy a key diagnostic position because they guide early pain management and they have a central role in the selection of the patients (triaging) for specific therapeutic approaches. Pharmacological therapy is selected based on the type of pain: determining pain as to nociceptive or neuropathic is the prerequisite for adopting the correct approach. Only having investigated with attention and clarified all these aspects it is possible to prescribe a suitable analgesic therapy and to appraise its effectiveness in the time. |
