Description
Summary:The efficacy and safety of therapeutic lipiodol lymphangiography have been reported by several studies. However, to our knowledge, no study has reported the use of this procedure in very-low-birth-weight infants. We present a case of an extremely-low-birth-weight infant girl who developed chylothorax on day 34 that was refractory to medical treatment. We performed therapeutic lipiodol lymphangiography on day 59 when her body weight was 800 g. Six days after the procedure, her pleural effusion suddenly decreased, and the chest tube was removed on day 67. No complications occurred.
