Summary: | Anastomotic leaks are an unfortunate complication of tracheoesophageal fistula repair. Ongoing anastomotic leaks have been successfully treated with esophageal stent placement. We present the first case report of successful management of an esophago-pleuro-cutaneous fistula using an esophageal stent in a 9-month old patient with VACTERL association while requiring veno-venous extracorporeal membranous oxygenation support. This case report illustrates that complex esophageal injuries can be successfully managed endoscopically in critically ill infants. |
