Summary

The monographic section of volume 31 of El Guiniguada, entitled La internacionalización del aula desde la educación bilingüe, approaches, from a transversal and multidisciplinary perspective, various research topics related to bilingual research in different national and international contexts. From a methodological point of view, it includes field research supported by theoretical studies focusing on different aspects related to the internationalization of bilingual education. These investigations include reflections and research on bilingual education in a number of content areas, effective praxis among trainee teachers, or new teaching and learning methodologies. Aspects of great impact on the education sector are dealt with in the different articles, such as the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects in the classroom, the development of different communicative skills in bilingual education, teacher training, the commitment of families, unequal opportunities in access to education, the influence of gender on the performance of oral production, and teacher training. All of them, we believe, are emerging issues of utmost importance in the current reality of the bilingual education classroom, which aims to serve as a window towards internationalization in order to train multilingual, multicultural and tolerant students, essential qualities for the citizen of the 21st century.
