Summary: | : Natural gas has emerged as a strong alternative to energy consumption. In addition to high energy yield produces low environmental impact. With complete combustion, it reduces the emission of CO, CO2, NO2. In the combustion, it has excellent thermal stability, generating products with better quality. The objective of this work was to show the general results for the socio-environmental balance is the use of natural gas as a substitute for petroleum products, highlighting the use of biogas, where qualitative and quantitative research data can be diversified. In the automotive industry improves the performance of lubricating oils. Natural gas contributes to the reduction of pollution due to its low emission of particulates. Its use does not imply deforestation or flooding of huge green spaces. Based on quantitative research, the methods of obtaining this gas obtained in fields and through the burning of biomass (sugar cane bagasse), reveals ways of sustainability. CH4 can be used as a fuel with great advantage over LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) and in the thermoelectric power plants is used to produce electricity. It can be found in hydrates, where it is trapped in large blocks of ice. The deposits of hydrates of the marine subsoil are incalculable, needing improvement of technology to exploit this resource and energy use, also found in deposits and usually associated with natural oil. However, because it is of fossil origin, its combustion contributes to the greenhouse effect. Natural gas, CH4, found in land or sea, can be replaced by biogas, which is relevant in sustainability, guaranteeing economy, remediation and sustainability. |
