STATUS OF TOP LEVEL GYMNAST'S UPPER LEG MUSCULATURE

On the sample of 9 gymnasts of an average age of 20 years and average weight of 66.87 kg the results of a maximum power of extensors of right upper knee musculature were 233.75 Nm and left 230 Nm. The results of a maximum power of flexors of right upper knee musculature were 118.13 Nm and left 110.5...

Description
Summary:On the sample of 9 gymnasts of an average age of 20 years and average weight of 66.87 kg the results of a maximum power of extensors of right upper knee musculature were 233.75 Nm and left 230 Nm. The results of a maximum power of flexors of right upper knee musculature were 118.13 Nm and left 110.5 Nm. The ratio of a muscular power of fl exors and extensors of a right lg is 49.75%, that means from 100% of a muscular power of the same leg 49.75% goes on the power of a front part of a thigh and 50.25% goes on the back part of a thigh. The ratio of a muscular power of flexors and extensors of a left leg is 48.13% that means from 100% of a muscular power of the same leg 48.13% goes on the power of a front part of a thigh and 51.87% goes on the back part of a thigh. The results of the ratio between agonists and antigonists point to the statistically important differences. When agonists are concerned, statistical importance is in favour of the right and on the harm of the left upper knee musculature, and when antigonists are concerned, statistical importance is in favour of the left and on the harm of the right upper knee musculature. It is obvious the deficit in a power of muscles extensors of the right related to the left and it was seen at 2 gymnasts (one with 13% and the other with 44%). It is obvious the deficit in a power of muscles flexors of the right related to the left and it was seen at 7 gymnasts (the deficit in power was between 10% to 51%).
