520 |a This study had as objective to characterize the problems of occupational violence, detected by the workers of the team of health of the service of emergency of a hospital. It is an exploratory investigation with quantitative boarding of the data, carried out in the service of emergency of a general hospital of the city of Londrina - Brazil, with 33 workers of the nursing team and 14 doctors. The data were gathered by means of interviews carried out with the workers and agents of the medical service and of nursing, and of consultation to the registrations of violence of the last seven years. The results showed that the male nurses 100%, the technicians´ 88,9%, the auxiliary nurses 88,2% and the doctors´ 85,7% referred to have been victims of acts of violence in the work, in spite of not having been registered. Type of suffering violence: 92,5% verbal aggression; 33,3% for moral blockade and sexual blockade respectively. Preventive measures should be implemented in what refers to improve the work conditions and of attention to the public in the studied service. The workers need to be qualified to face and to impede acts of occupational violence.
