Description
Summary:In the past three decades teaching sports has changed from a traditional technique-oriented model to teaching games for understanding model characterized by the use of modified games. Despite the number of proposals, research has not empirically justified the use of them depending on the specific teaching-learning context of the practitioners. This way, what function has the modified game as a methodological resource in sports teaching? In this regard, we noted that modified games could be a suitable and efficient tool for development and evaluation of knowledge and game performance of young players, and also for the development of other dimensions of learning. However, there are no guidelines in modified games planning, which is why we stress the importance of continued research in this line.
