Summary: | Modern data on a functional condition of race car pilots participating in closed-circuit race are presented in the review. Based on the results of domestic and foreign studies in recent years the influence of the main stress factors, including heat and carbon monoxide, on the cardiovascular and perceptual system of pilots is presented. The results of studies on the perception and cognitive skills of racers are also presented. Special attention is paid to the importance of carrying out methods of sports psychology, improvement of the general physical condition of pilots. Issues of injuries and activities aimed at ensuring the safety of auto racing on ring roads are covered. In conclusion, the relevance of further research aimed at applying a holistic approach to the study of physiological and cognitive functions of racers, as well as the need to improve the safety of competitions is stated. |
