Description
Summary:Abstract We present the case of a 40‐year‐old woman exposed for 4 h and 30 min to chlorine gas generated by mixing detergents containing hydrochloric acid and hypochlorous acid to commit suicide in the bathroom. Acute respiratory failure, chemical burns all over the face and a corneal erosion occurred. Despite skin chemical burns have not been reported after exposure to chlorine gas, this report suggests that chemical burns may occur due to prolonged exposure even at relatively low concentration of chlorine gas.
