| Summary: | Aim: to determine the level of stress among nurses of a hospital. Method: Transversal, quantitative study, developed in a medium size hospital in the countryside of Rio Grande do Sul. The population is constituted of 20 nurses. The data were collected in October 2014, through the Bianch Stress Scale, which is constituted by sociodemographic characterization and 51 items to evaluate stress, divided into six domains. This project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Regional Integrated University of High Uruguay and Missions. Results: among the nurses, 55% presented medium level of stress. The majority scores were within the domains of: "Personnel management", "Unit coordination of activities" and "Work conditions". Conclusion: the level of stress was medium to just over half the population. Other studies are suggested with larger populations for comparisons and strengthening of research about health and working conditions in nursing |
