Description
Summary:Abstract This practical examination was designed to test integrated application of physiology, pharmacology, and prevention of iatrogenic events in the management of the geriatric patient in the acute hospital setting. It can be utilized for formative feedback, to inform the learner's global assessment, or to document change in competency before and after an inpatient clinical clerkship. This examination assesses the learner on admission orders based on history, physical, and laboratory assessment of a standardized case. It is designed to evaluate application of clinical knowledge in the inpatient setting. The test is graded on 10 selected competencies from the Society of General Internal Medicine's Minimum Geriatric Competencies for Internal Medicine and Family Medicine Residents.
