Summary:Children's prejudice is still s problem in the educational world. The importance of reducing children's prejudice through the teaching of multicultural perspectives in social studies education (IPS) is relevant to education in a multicultural perspectives is crucial to prevent Indonesian students from negative prejudice to other groups. The basic education conditions for reducing the development of student prejudice are democratic school environment, the teachers' role and schools' multicultural curriculum. Indonesian teachers can develop some instructional strategies which are appropriate to the problems related to the prejudice
