| Summary: | Over the last 20 years, humankind has gone through monumental changes mainly stimulated by Communication and Information Technologies -ICT-, affecting life in all aspects. This paper aims at investigating humanism within this context, by discussing time-space relationship, and subsequently understanding how ICT have been pivotal to changes in posture and knowledge construction. According to the perspective of philosophical hermeneutics, especially to Hans- Georg Gadamer, the concept of tradition appropriation and the approaches to formation (Buildung) enable this discussion under the light of philosophical hermeneutics. A circularity emerges from it, and we may glimpse answers for questions such as: in what way is (humanistic, intellectual, social) formation happening within this context? What space is allocated to humanism before such a complex and plural setting, pervaded by the ICT? How do ICT contribute or not to the (re)thinking of human position before knowledge? These are quite complex issues that require mediation to provide clues of what the answers are, even if they are to remain open. |
