Methods: quantitative descriptive and cross-sectional research developed with a population of 162 LWNB. Data were submitted through statistical analysis. Results: demostrated that in relation to sex ratio was 1:1 and most newborns were preterm. We identified a high index of cesarean, and as main reasons for NICU hospitalization prematurity, followed by respiratory discomfort. We found that feeding was the artificial milk and partial breast feeding was the most at the discharge. Conclusion: to know LWNB profile enables assistance to this population, contributting for reducing neonatal mortality and for an assistance that meets the newborns singularity.
