520 |a Trichobezoar is a rare condition that may pose a diagnostic challenge. Patients with this condition are commonly young females who often have an underlying psychiatric disorder such as trichotillomania, or the compulsive urge to pull one's own hair out. Several treatment options are proposed, including removal by conventional laparotomy, laparoscopy, or endoscopy. Up to the best of our knowledge few cases only had complete removal of trichobezoar without the need for the various modifications in the extraction of trichobezoar such as suprapubic incision, inguinal crease incision, extending the port-site incision or gastropexy to abdominal wall. We report an eleven-year-old boy with a large gastro-duodenal trichobezoar who underwent complete laparoscopic removal without complications.
