Description
Summary:Aim: to characterize adolescents assisted in a family planning service regarding sociodemographic, gynecological, and obstetric aspects. Method: it was a cross sectional retrospective study with quantitative approach. The population comprised 145 adolescents aged from 13 to 19 years old in a Family Planning Service with secondary data, from a public hospital in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil. Data were analyzed through the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software version 20.0, which were then described and presented in tables. Results: there was predominance of adolescents aged 15-17 years old (45.5%) and conjugal union (89.7%). The mean age at the menarche was 11.88 ±1.52 years; of 14.01 ±1.53 at sexual initiation; and of 15.06 ±1.71 at first pregnancy. The majority (75.1%) had one pregnancy. Normal delivery (52.2%) was the prevailing type. Conclusion: it was verified a lack of individual care for adolescents to strengthen the autonomy and choices to practice safer sex.
