Summary:In the current context of the "global knowledge society", this article looks at the social and professional trajectories of a specific category of workers, the brazilian tele-operators. The article first analyses the tele-marketing sector with regard to new forms of inter- and intra-sectoral professional mobility, which are significant for the Brazilian labour market. It then discusses the relationship between supply and demand of educational opportunities with regard to gender and racial discrimination. Finally, the article analyses the trajectories of market operators, particularly with regard to education and knowledge.
