Summary:Rupture of the left ventricular free wall is a rare complication of acute myocardial infarctionusually occurs between 1st and 5th days after acute myocardial infarction. We reported a newcase of cardiac rupture successfully treated by surgery without cardiopulmonary bypass. Webelieve that the departments of general and thoracic surgery in hospitals without cardiacsurgery, could take this type of intervention to prevent the disastrous consequences of a longinter-center transfer.
