The description and analysis of linguistic variation is one of the fields that has recently received much attention in German linguistics. This volume shows in a synopsis of different approaches from attitude to language contact research, how to understand variation along different norm orientations of speakers and as a result of identity constructions.
Die Beschreibung und Analyse sprachlicher Variation gehört zu den Feldern, die in der germanistischen Sprachwissenschaft in jüngerer Zeit stark an Aufmerksamkeit gewonnen haben. Dieser Band zeigt in einer Zusammenschau verschiedener Ansätze von der Einstellungs- bis zur Sprachkontaktforschung, wie sich Variation entlang verschiedener Normorientierungen von Sprechern sowie als Ergebnis von Identitätskonstruktionen begreifen lässt.
