Resumo:Worker's councils between protectionist policies and policies of social transformation: a history of the industrial consultation processes in the West-German automobile industry after the Second World War.
Die Automobilindustrie gehört zu den zentralen Wirtschaftsbranchen Deutschlands sowie zu den Hochburgen der gewerkschaftlichen Organisation und Mitbestimmung. Seit der Nachkriegszeit haben sich hier besonders weitreichende Muster der »Konfliktpartnerschaft« zwischen Arbeit und Kapital herausgebildet. Dieser Band bietet erstmals eine zusammenfassende sozialhistorische Darstellung der betrieblichen Mitbestimmung in der westdeutschen Automobilindustrie in der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Der Wandel der Mitbestimmungspraxis der Betriebsräte von der Schutz- und Verteilungs- zur Beschäftigungs- und Gestaltungspolitik wird dabei im Kontext unterschiedlicher betrieblicher Sozialordnungen analysiert.
